PRP can be used to treat:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Circles, bags & discoloration around eyes
- Vertical lip lines
- Nasolabial folds
- Active acne and acne scars
- Stretch marks
- Epidural thinning and volume loss in the face and neck
The platelet rich plasma is highly beneficial for increasing collagen formation, skin tightening, connective tissue regeneration, and skin thickness rejuvenation. It is ideal for any wrinkling or sagging in the forehead, eye, chin, cheek, neck or chest areas. PRP’s growth factors activate cells in the body to prepare for the healing and generation of new capillaries and collagen in the skin. In addition, the platelets initiate homeostasis (the stopping of bleeding) and balance the inflammatory response, which is necessary during the healing process. Growth factors target specific cells to stimulate healing activities, which is why this treatment can effectively be applied to centralized areas.
The treatment of PRP is relatively simple and can be completed with 90 minutes. We collect the PRP by drawing a small amount of your blood, putting it into an FDA cleared device, placing it in a centrifuge and spinning it until the platelets separate from the blood. We keep the plasma and we do not use the red blood cells. Once the Platelet Rich Plasma is separated, it is then transferred into a syringe for injection. We add an activation agent that stimulates the platelets and acts as a scaffold so where we treat your body, the PRP stays and does not disperse. This allows the healing process to be focused in a specific area.
Since the PRP is a thin serum, it is able to be placed in a narrow needle and therefore is virtually painless. It is then injected into the areas of concern to begin the regeneration of the skin and smooth out wrinkles. It can be administered to as many areas as desired.
This process not only involves injection of the PRP into targeted areas of the face, but also a full facial and micro needling service.
The goal of this therapy is intentional, targeted inflammation at a point of injury or desired area of repair.
The result is stimulation of the body’s natural ability to heal and consequential repair.
During the first month, a noticeable improvement of skin texture can be seen. Maximum collagen regeneration occurs around 3 months after treatment.
